不出户，知天下；不窥牖，见天道。其出弥远，其知弥少。
是以圣人不行而知，不见而明，不为而成。

不出屋门便可知天下的事，不望窗外便可明白天地规律。走得越远，（反而）知道得越少。
所以圣人不用出行就能知道很多事情，不必看见就能明白（是非），不用作为就能成功。

Without leaving my house, I know the affairs of the world; without looking out my window, I discover the ways of heaven. The further you go, the less you learn.
So a wise soul knows things without going out; he understands things without seeing them, and gets work done without doing.

Sans sortir de ma maison, je connais les affaires du monde ; sans regarder par ma fenêtre, je découvre les voies du ciel.
Plus l'on s'éloigne et moins l'on apprend.
C'est pourquoi le sage connait les choses sans sortir ; il comprend les choses sans les voir ; et accomplit de grandes choses sans bouger.
