大成若缺，其用不弊。大盈若冲，其用不穷。
大直若屈，大巧若拙，大辩若讷。
静胜躁，寒胜热*。清静，为天下正。

最完美的东西，看起来好像有欠缺的样子，然而怎么用也用不坏。最丰盈的东西，看起来好像空虚的样子，然而怎么用也用不完。
最正直的东西好像是弯曲的，最灵巧的东西好像是笨拙的，最善辩的人好象不善言辞。
清静能克服躁动，寒冷胜过暑热。唯有清静，才是天下的正道。

Perfect things seem full of imperfections, but they do not wear out. Well-filled things seem empty, but they are not exhausted. Perfectly straight things appear crooked. Perfectly ingenious beings appear stupid. Perfectly spoken beings seem to stutter.
Quietness triumphs over excitement; and coldness triumphs over heat.
The one who is clear and quiet becomes the model of the world.
